Pastor Charles Woody Sr.
January 1, 1955 - May 23, 2020

Charles Lee Woody Sr. passed away on Saturday May 23rd 2020 in Whittier California at the age of 65. He was born in Los Angeles, California on January 1st 1955 to Annie Tejeda and was raised in Santa Fe Springs California with his three sisters, Audrey, Lori and Marla. In 1988 Charles was ordained as an associate Pastor at Cornerstone Celebration Center International Church and has led his congregation as head Pastor for over 14 years.
Pastor Charles was an active and valued member of the Whittier community. He served on the board of the Hispanic Outreach Taskforce, the Whittier Area Evangelical Ministerial Alliance and the Catholic Rainbow Outreach to name a few, and in 2015 he was honored with the Patriot Award. He loved music and mastered the guitar, bass, drums and piano at a young age. He was an accomplished musician and led the band at his church during every service.
Charles is survived by Sandra, his high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years, his two children, Charles Jr and Esther, his four grandchildren, Celina, Charles III, Candace and Charlene, his seven great grandchildren, Charles IV, Leslee, Jeslee, Hailee, Mark, Ryan and Derrick Jr. As well as extended family, countless congregates, mentees and loyal friends.
Dad you will be missed but your teachings and music will live on through all of us. "In Him we win!"
