Florence Alice Mueller
December 13, 1929 - May 22, 2020

Florence Alice (Conway) Mueller, age 90, passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice in the early morning on Friday, May 22, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Florence was born on December 13, 1929 in Winona County to John and Mabel (Nisbit) Conway. She was raised in the St. Charles area and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1948. On August 17, 1949, Florence married Cletus Mueller at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The couple farmed in rural St. Charles and later moved to St. Charles. She was head cook at the St. Charles Elementary School for 29 years and was a life-long member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. After the death of her husband, she was able to live in her own home until she was 90 years old.
Some of her hobbies included metal detecting, camping, fishing, gardening, flowers, baking banana bread, embroidering dish towels, Mechanical History Round Table, making Baptismal gowns and blankets, and making quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her crafts included crocheting blankets, hats for the homeless, dish rags, sewing, Genealogy (which resulted in making memory books), photography (taking and developing many pictures), and "keeping up" with technology (instant messaging and Facetime). Her favorite things to do were spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; hosting a family picnic during Flowerfest; and eating a "little" hamburger and vanilla custard with caramel at Culver's.
She is survived by her four children: Francis (Catherine) Mueller, Kenneth (Lee Ann) Mueller, Barbara (Donald) Dvorak, and Michael (Jane) Mueller. Grandchildren include: Scott (Denise) Mueller; Karen Mulvihill; JoAnn (Greg) Carlson; Colleen (Justin) Wendt; John-Cletus Mueller; Jennifer (Dean Chady) Mueller; Alison (Jerome) Newton; Janel (Carl) Sackreiter; Joshua (Jessica) Dvorak; Sara (Tony) Boespflug; Stacie (Michael) Walterman; and Christopher Mueller. Great Grandchildren include: Devin, Danika, Cavan, Aaron, Catherine, Ivalene, Marshall, Violet, Bryan, Isabel, Isaac, Nolan, Lucas, Noah, Josephine, Lincoln, Owen, Madeline, Nicholas, and Diane.
She is survived by her brother, Edward (Rose) Conway; in-laws: Edith and Rol Holm; Clara and Rod Burt; Louie and Gloria Mueller; Helen Mueller; Marie Mueller; Ted Mueller, and Tom Lehnertz, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus; parents; granddaughter, Melissa Dvorak; grandson, Christopher Mulvihill; great grandson, Joseph Sackreiter; sisters-in-law: Vera Conway, Leora Loftus, Sister Bona Mueller, Carlene Mueller, Lucille Mueller, Marlene "Bets" Lehnertz; and brothers-in-law: Bernard Loftus, George Mueller, Arthur (Nick) Mueller; James Mueller; and special uncle, Chrissy Conway.
A private funeral will be on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Elba, Minnesota.

"To Florence\'s family my deepest sympathy at the loss of a GREAT LADY who will definitely be missed by you and by so many others!!! I\'ve known her since she worked at the elementary school and have so enjoyed our visits over the past many years! She was a very crafty lady; your father and her made many memorable gifts for family members. To Ed, you two were \'2 Peas In A Pod\'. I know you are going to miss your sis very much too!!! May time lessen the pain you feel now, but thankfully the memories will always be there. God Bless You All - we know where she is at now!!!"

"She will be so missed. Her laugh, her smile, the times we had a visit and \"chewed the fat\", her hugs and family stories. Remembering all the quilts squares she cut, the embroidery she did for family members, her Christmas village, her farm stories and her love for Cletus. Florence made an impact on my life with her presence. I will so miss stopping by and spending time with her. Richland Avenue will not be the same. Sending my Love, Prayers and hugs to all her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she all loved so very much. "
