Barbara Ann Gile, 87 of Winona, passed away at her home Monday, May 18, 2020. Barbara was born on October 22, 1932 in Winona to Edward and Margaret (Ginther) Czaplewski. On November 24, 1949 she married Bert Gile and they celebrated 70 years together. Barbara was a faithful member of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and the Eagles Club. She was an avid bowler, loved the spotlight and always ended a farewell with the endearing response "Love you more."
She is survived by her husband, Bert; children, Barbara Jean (Eric) Hefte, Peggy Ann Gile, Greg (Tracy) Gile, and Bert (Sabrina) Gile; grandchildren, Erica (Kevin) Jacobson, Kirsten (Joel) Hefte, Laurie (Tim) McVean, Julie and Lindie Falk, Isabelle, Brady, and Gregg Gile, Christina Wilkins, and Autumn Gile; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jermiah Jacobson, Wyatt and Adelle Anacabe, Lorelei and Elliot Wilkins who affectionately called her Nannie; and her sister, Judy (Art) Johns.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, William (Bill); grandson, Logan; and siblings, RoseMary, William and Robert.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of Mass. Please leave a memory of Barbara at www.hofffuneral.com. Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, is assisting the family.
