JAMES GRADY HOWARD, 86, A man of honor, faith, and dedication to his family, passed on May 15, 2020 at Estelle's House in Ocala, Florida. He was born March 15, 1934 to William Ralph and Ophelia Livesey Howard and is preceded in death by 6 brothers, 1 sister, 2 grandsons, and 1 daughter. He is survived by his loving wife Janet Howard, daughter Brenda Auer (Frank), Bonnie Howard, Sherrie Trew Goolsby (Richard), Kathy Trew Binegar, Susan Trew, son Bill Trew, Brother Charles Howard, 12 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. James married Betty Sue Dixon in 1952 and they remained married until her death in 2015. In March 2019, James married Janet Shelton and enjoyed every day they had together. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a great supporter of our country. He had a love and passion for flying. One of the happiest days of his life was when he earned his first set of Wings and achieved his pilots license, as well as when he bought his first airplane. He spent many hours flying and enjoying his newfound freedom. After his retirement, he enjoyed family time with his wife, fishing, NASCAR racing, vacations, and family gatherings with his children and grandchildren. He loved to play his guitar and sing the "old country music" and talk about his stories of life with us all. His love and compassion to us and his radiant smile will be cherished by all forever.
