"Very nice, Kevin. Well done."
Patti Lynn Arthur Rogers
Our beautiful daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend lost her courageous battle with cancer on the evening of Saturday, January 12, 2013. Patti Lynn Arthur Rogers was born April 28th, 1964 and celebrated 48 years of life. She leaves a wonderful husband, Kevin Wayne Rogers and a beautiful daughter, Lindsey Jenna Rogers to carry on her legacy of love and devotion to her family and those surrounding her. She was also loved by her mother, Bea Arthur and sisters Pam Arthur, Mary Ann Pennington and brother-in-law Tommy Pennington of Fayetteville, WV, and her brother Rob Arthur and sister-in-law Beth Arthur of Raleigh, NC and niece & nephew, Heather & Noah Pennington of Fayetteville, WV, R.J. & Kayla Arthur of Raleigh, NC, and brother, Curt -and sister-in-law Sue Rogers of Suwnee, GA.
She was born in West Virginia and she loved those "country roads" so she let them "take her home" for many visits with family and friends over her years spent living in GA. She lived with her husband and daughter in Sugar Hill. She graduated from Fayetteville High School and Concord College located in WV and received her Master's of Science degree from North Georgia College & State University then completed her Specialist in Education degree at Lincoln Memorial University (TN). She loved teaching at Forsyth Central High School and helping the many hundreds of students over her 22 years there.
She was a champion of any cause she believed in and she loved with all of her heart. Her friends were always considered part of her family and we were all very fortunate to have her in our lives.
Her family and friends are invited to a "Celebration of Life" from the hours of 5-7 pm on Thursday, January 17th, 2013 at Byars Funeral Home, where we will touch each other's lives with the commemoration and remembrance of her wonderful life. The service will follow at 7:00 pm as we continue to honor our time spent with her. A second " Celebration of Life" is planned for Fayetteville, WV at a later date.
Her family would like to say thank-you for all the prayers and words of encouragement she received throughout the last few years as she battled this disease called cancer.
In leiu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Forsyth Central High School Relay for Life of Forsyth County, Georgia.

"Even though I have not seen or heard from Patti in many years, I will never forget all the good times we had growing up together as very good friends in school and in 4-H. So many great memories and some very special times for sure that I will never forget. Prayers are with you Bea as well as the rest of the family and I will be praying for all of you!"
"I was blessed to be able to call Patti a friend and have her in my life. She was always willing to put other's needs in front of her own and she was always there when a friend needed her. She helped me get through some tough times and always brought a smile to my face. Kevin and Lindsay, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I know that God has Patti embraced in His loving arms."
"Kevin and Lindsay, I'm so sorry for your loss. I prayed often, over the years, for your wife and mother. She was a wonderful friend to me during my time at Central. "Patti and I met the year she began teaching at Otwell and then we transferred to Forsyth Central the same year. Patti will always be remembered as a caring person and a wonderful teacher. Patti's love of her family was evident to everyone that knew her. May all your good memories be a comfort at this time. May God grant you peace and strength in the coming days."
"Patti will be in our hearts forever! She was always kind, giving, and "real." I can remember her helping out with the softball team when I was in high school and then good times when we became co-workers. Patti was always a positive influence and will be truly missed. Kevin and Lindsay, I pray that Gods love lifts and carries you through."

"Deepest sympathy to a wonderful supportive family. I never got to meet Patti, however I did get to know of how wonderful she was via her sister Pam as she often spoke lovingly and with such admiration for her. Cherish the memories as Patti will forever live daily in your hearts. Thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you. Robin McDaniel"
"I only met Patti a few times, but that was enough to know that she was very special and very much loved by her family and friends. My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you begin the process of learning to carry on without her. Cherish the memories that can never be taken away from you."
"Pam, Praying for you and your family in this time of grief and knowing that the grace of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be a comfort to you.Love and Prayers,Lou Ann Bowen"
"We join so many others who mourn Patti's passing and will keep Patti and her beautiful family forever in our thoughts and prayers. We count ourselves fortunate that our paths crossed so we were able to have known Patti, as well as Kevin and Lindsey - what a warm and loving family! No matter what, Patti always greeted us with her sweet, welcoming smile and kind words. Words can not express our sadness but please know we are thinking of you all. Today and always, may loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength. The measure of a life well-lived is not in what a person has accumulated, but rather through the lives they touched and the sorrow they leave behind. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that her loss is felt by all who knew and loved Patti. The Shaw Family"
