Barbara Ann Duncan Wetherington Kellogg (84) passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, June 4, 2017. “Grandma Barbie”, formerly of Decatur, Georgia, was born on November 17, 1932 to parents Everett and Hettie Garner Duncan at Emory Hospital. She graduated from Decatur High School and the University of North Georgia with a double major in Biology and Chemistry. Barbara was a charter member of Rehobeth Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Georgia. She married Colonel Andreul Joseph Wetherington, Sr. and as an officer’s wife lived in Europe, South America, and many military posts in the United States. In her later years, she met and married Lt. Colonel Preston P. Kellogg of Cumming, Georgia, who predeceased her. They were devoted to one another and enjoyed living on Lake Lanier.
Barbara was an educator and a realtor. She loved to play tennis and bridge. Barbie loved to socialize, have fun and to be around people.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Nancy and son-in-law Tommy Haman of Dahlonega, Georgia, her son Joe and daughter-in-law Mary Wetherington of Lilburn, Georgia, her daughter Susie Wetherington of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and grandchildren Katie and Jackie Beam of Covington, Georgia, Elizabeth and Dave Johnson of Brentwood, Tennessee, Christine and Rob Luke of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Charlie Currie of Atlanta, Georgia, Amanda and Charlie Walker of Cumming, Georgia, Andrea and Nazim Ouargli of Decatur, Georgia, Melissa and Brain Eidson of Decatur, Georgia, Bonnie Wetherington of Decatur, Georgia, and Theodore Wetherington of Decatur, Georgia. She was the proud great-grandmother to eleven great grandchildren: Grace, Joshua, Reid, Savannah, Stella, Adam, Eliza, Wyatt, Eva, Duncan and Sydney.
Barbie was known for her positive outlook on life, grand sense of humor and generosity. She was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and caregiver. Her family loved her dearly and respected her deeply. She will be sadly missed by all.
The memorial service will be held at Trinity Worship Center 315 Kelly Mill Road in Cumming, Georgia on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
