The Knight family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of John Richard Knight on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 9:45 pm. John is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Jackie), and two sons, John Richard Knight III (Who shares his fathers birthday) and Thomas R. Knight; all of which reside in La Mirada, California. His siblings from Omaha Nebraska; brothers Jim and Dr. Charles Knight and sister, Anne Knight. He is preceded in death by his father, John Richard Knight Sr. (Dick) and mother, Mary Fike Knight.
John Was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 26, 1953 while his father was in a golf tournament. He grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and La Mirada, California. He graduated from Benson High School where he also met his wife of 49 years, Jackie. He attended Cal State Fullerton University, the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and Grace Christian University. He pursued a career in the saw blade sharpening industry for 40 years.
John Loved to read and learn new things: cooking, computer programming, playing the clarinet, country western line dancing, flight simulator, sports, photography, and riding his motorcycle to work almost every day.
John was known to be a quiet and gentle man with a quick wit and kind heart (Which stopped too soon) and as a born again Christian, had a compassionate spirit.
