In loving memory of

Maxine Ann Pressler
September 15, 1947 - October 21, 2013

Maxine Ann Pressler was born September 15, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Shelby Woodrow and Katherine Louise (Giralami) Wilson. She passed away Monday, October 21, 2013, in Riverside, California, at the age of 66.

'Max', as she was affectionately known, spent her first years in Missouri. As a young girl she moved with her family to Hawthorne, California, where she grew up and went to school. Maxine graduated from Hawthorne High School and later went on to study at Harbor City College.

On June 15, 1965, Maxine married Daniel Lee Pressler. They made their home in Hawthorne, where they raised their four children. Maxine and Daniel were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1977, and were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Dan was the love of her life. His unexpected passing in 1988 had a deep impact on her life.

Family always came first for Maxine. She was a devoted wife and mother and was extremely involved in the many different activities of her children. The family also made frequent fishing and camping trips to Cachuma Lake. Many precious memories were made as they spent time together.

Max loved learning and especially enjoyed history. She spent hours and hours watching the History Channel, taking in all she could. A wonderful homemaker, Maxine was a master at cooking, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, cross-stitch and more. Her faith was also extremely important to Max. She was also very involved in serving others through the church.

Not one to hold back her thoughts or feelings, you always knew what Max thought and where you stood with her. While she was stubborn and opinionated, she was also very strong-willed. That character trait allowed her to be a good leader and to accomplish anything she set her mind to. She was also very intelligent. No matter the challenge, she would take charge and move forward, figuring things out along the way.

Maxine is survived by her children, Tracey Ann (Mike) Giles, Susan Leigh Henry, Daniel Lee (Jennifer) Pressler, Jr., and Joseph Woodrow (Yvonne) Pressler; siblings, Sheila (Steve) Hall, Kitty Wilson, and Tony (Sherri) Wilson; and grandsons, Travis Lee Henry, David Michael Giles and Nicolas Robert Pressler. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel Lee Pressler, Sr., and her sweet granddaughter, Heather Celeste Giles.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Monday, October 28, 2013, at Inglewood Park Cemetery, 720 E. Florence Ave, Inglewood, California.
