In loving memory of

William Bill A. Anderton III
January 10, 1949 - December 4, 2018

William A. Anderton III Bill passed away peacefully on December 4, 2018 at Seasons Hospice in Cumming, GA. Bill was born in Flint, Michigan on January 10, 1949. As a child he moved with his family to Burlington, CT, where he played baseball, fished and enjoyed his summers on the beaches of Connecticut. He graduated from Lewis S. Mills High School in Burlington, CT. Upon graduation he served our country in the United States Navy. After an honorable discharge Bill worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Windsor Locks, CT for thirty years. In retirement, he moved to Cumming, GA with his wife, where he enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with his family, spoiling his grand-puppy Dixie and cheering on his beloved New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Bill was an easy going, quiet and gentle presence, who brought a peace and solace to those around him with his good-natured ways. If his smile did not bring one to your face his corny jokes would. He will be greatly missed by his family. William was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Anderton II and Alice Brainard.

Bill is survived by his treasured wife, Phyllis (Rattey) and his three children Elizabeth Anderton of Somers, CT, Matthew Anderton of Windsor Locks, CT, Gillian (Eric) Masse of Enfield, CT, and three step-children, Marc (Lisa) Menard, of Tampa, FL, Lise (Anthony) Smith of Cumming, GA, Jacqueline (Chad) Dally of Cumming, GA. One granddaughter Sydney and ten step-grandchildren Connor, Anna, Ben, Madeleine, Jack, Brett, Jocelyn, Chenoa, Summer and Hunter. His loving sisters, Jerrie Williams of Lake Wales, FL, Carole (Stephen) Rybczyk, of Burlington, CT, Shelley Anderton, of Riverside IA, Dawn McCoy of Riverside, IA and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue in Cumming, GA, on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 4pm-6pm followed by a memorial service at 6pm-7PM.
