Julia Ann Maggie Hester Fowler Smith, age 72, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Maggie was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She retired from The Forsyth County Board of Education after 23 years and 5 months of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reynold Ernest Hester and Nellie Pauleen Hall Hester; husband, Herbert Odell Smith; brothers and sister, Jewell Hester, James Hester; and Erlene Hester.
Maggie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Tim and Lisa Fowler; grandson, Elijah Eli Christopher Fowler; sisters and brothers, Christine Davis, Jerry Hester, Kathleen Moss, Perry Hester, Doyline Hester Bagley and Steve Hester; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Maggie will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Richard and Rev. Tony Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday, from10:00 am until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers make donations to Oak Grove Baptist Church, c/o Jeff Honea, 6350 Concord Road, Cumming, GA 30028 in memory of Maggie Smith.
Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming is in charge of arrangements.
