Herman Jacob Hamby, 90, of Cumming passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. Mr. Hamby was Senior Deacon and a founding member of Silver City Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mandy Hamby; and his brothers, Harold, Olen, Dorsey and Top Hamby.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Azzie Lou Hamby; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jerry Andrews, and Shirley and Jerry Grogan, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Kim and Phillip Booth of Cumming, Kelly and Marty Payne of Dawsonville, Jess and Manuela Grogan of Roswell, Vicki and Mark Holbrook of Cumming, Jason and Shelby Swafford of Dawsonville; 10 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Marcelle Hamby of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Brice Talley of Cumming; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hamby and Janice Hamby, both of Cumming; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Sorrells, Rev. Stephen Davis and Rev. Russell Burt officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
