"Dearest Pauline: I just heard of Ed's passing and am so sad for you and your family. Playing bridge and working on landscape with Ed was so fun. He always sent perennials to my garden when they were seasonally discarded from our Orchards. They are still blooming today and will be a memorial to Ed for his kindness. I will miss him. Edward Cordon Phillips, Jr., age 86, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Edward was born on December 26, 1931, to the late Edward C. Phillips, Sr. and Ruth A. Burnett Phillips. He graduated from South High in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served in the United States Air Force and Utah National Guard for 21 years, rising to the rank of Major. Edward built his career in the financial industry. He married Pauline Thomas in 1952 and they had three sons. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Pauline Phillips; sons and daughter-in-law, David (Becky) Phillips, Patrick and Chris Phillips; grandson, Matthew (Meredith) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Camryn, Grant Phillips, and sister, Esther Phillips. Memorial services for Mr. Phillips will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
