SFC Ronald Stanley "Ron& Shipp Jr
September 1, 1982 - November 24, 2015

SFC Ronald Stanley Shipp, Jr. (U.S. Army), age 33, of Cumming, GA passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015. A true American hero, gone but never forgotten, Ron was dedicated to serving our country as an Airborne Army Ranger for the past 16 years as a 3rd tour combat veteran. He deployed to combat zones for 34 months and spent almost 5 years as a Ranger Instructor. He offered advice and was a mentor to many people. He was our role model. We all looked up to Ron and looked to him for answers. He traveled and had seen the world making many memories along the way. Ron truly lived life to the fullest; he was a jack of all trades and never met a task that he couldn't take on and excel in. He was a highly accomplished leader, earning many awards and achievements throughout his career. We all looked up to him in so many ways. Ron never met a stranger; he was so giving and selfless. He would do anything to lend a hand and to help others in a time of need; Ron would have given the shirt off his back. He was willing to help anyone and believed in those that no one else had faith in that they would always have potential. Ron was an excellent leader, wonderful father, and friend to us all. He loved his children and would have done anything for them. He loved fishing, wake boarding and rock climbing. Ron always said that when he retired he was going to open up a fishing business and name it Bubba Gump. He touched the lives of so many and his memories will continue to go on in our hearts forever. Ron leaves behind his wife, Jessica, his children, Tyler 3, Emma 1, his mother, Deborah Stewart, and sister, Jennifer Grogg. He is preceded in death by his grandma, Dorothy Grogg. "Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in knowing that God (Psalms 83 vs 18) hates death and he views it as the last enemy (1 Corinthians 15 vs 26). In the near future he promises to "wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away" Revelation 21 vs 4"

"When I think about why I love my job you always come to mind. You inspired me to be a better teacher. Even now, 15 years later, I still use your self portrait in class twice a year. I'm a better person for having known you. Rest in peace."
