Gene A. Mauldin, age 86 of Dawsonville, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014. Mr. Mauldin is a US Navy Veteran who served on the USS Ranger in World War II. He was the Co-owner of Mauldin Excavating and Grading and had a passion for farming. Mr. Mauldin loved to tell lifelong stories about his past, enjoyed swimming and playing pranks on others. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Martha Ethelene Mauldin of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Miles and Aurora Mauldin of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Ray and Ruthell Mauldin of Ball Ground; 3 grandchildren, Gus Mauldin, Duris Walker, and John Markley. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25th at 2:00pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Sorrells and Rev. Kenny Sutton officiating. Interment will follow at Mica Baptist Church Cemetery in Ball Ground. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday, August 24th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and on Monday, August 25th from 11:00am until time of service. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Mica Baptist Church. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
