Vera L. Cowart, age 99 of Cumming, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014. She was the oldest member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Cowart; daughter, Brenda Lewis; granddaughter, Vickie Hopkins; great grandson, Cole Hopkins; parents, Joel and Ola Yarbrough; sisters, Eula Stancil and Bonnie Mills. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice and the late Broughton O'Bryant of Canton, Sandra and Mike Martin of Cumming; sister-in-law, Inez Howard of Alpharetta; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Purcell and Rev. Danny Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am until hour of the service.
