"Rememberance I worked with Robert until he retired. He always made work fun. He had a great sense of humor and liked to kid around. I remember how strong he was too, he had a grip like a black smith ! He was also one of the hardest workers at Deere and was always dedicated to what ever job he did and the work he did was always perfect. I know when we have our retiree breakfast each month we always remember him fondly. My sincere condolences go out to the family on the anniversary of his passing. GOD BLESS David Ayers"
"Honesty, dedication and hard work. I started work in 1965 for John Deere and retired in 2009 and worked several positions with Robert. He taught me stocking, packing and I worked at the mail and Flash station with him for several years. Robert was a very dedicated employee and always performed his job above expectations. I remember him as being an honest gentleman and was dedicated to doing his job well and he was always exceptional in everything he worked on. Robert liked making the work fun and everyone enjoyed working with him. He also was a very strong man and had a grip that could put you to your knees.I was the Union Chairman for many years and I can say he never created any problems and with his honesty and dedication he helped solve a lot of problems at work and everyone respected him and his opinions. I am very saddened with his passing and wish I had know earlier where I could have attended his services. I wish his family all the best and GOD's blessings. David Ayers, John Deere Retiree David Ayers "
""JOHN DEERE RETIREES" TO THE FAMILY OF ROBERT YOUNGBLOOD I am sorry for your loss. I just heard about this yesterday when another retiree phoned and told me about it. I had the plesure of working with Robert at John Deere. I started there in May of 1972 and retired in Sept of 2001. I don't remember if Robert retired before Deere moved from Chamblee to Conyers. I do remember that his character and committment to doing his job well was admirable. After retirement I remember seeing Robert at Ingram's Funeral Home when my wife's late brother-in-law, Morris Thornton's, father had passed away. His father's name was Henry Thornton. I see in the obituary that Robert's sister is a Thornton. I knew that there was some connection there but I could not remember what it was. May God bless the family during this time of grieving and thank God for his word and his promises. I shared a couple of photos that were taken Dec. 2012 at the John Deere BBQ dinner celebrating 175 years in business. This was at there new location in McDonough, Ga. Most of the people in these photos worked with Robert. Sincerely, Jerry Davis "
"June, Joyce, Jimmy and families, So sorry to hear of the loss of your father. He was truly a wonderful, caring man. I know that you have an emptiness in your heart right now, but that emptiness has left a space for you to store all of the wonderful memories that you have shared through the years with your dad and the rest of your family. And when you feel the need to speak to your dad, he will be there in your heart to answer. You are in my prayers. Wanda"
