"Lois and family, Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss of husband and father. I understand the grief that you are feeling. i wish I could say it gets easier with time, but I can not. It has been seven years since my husband passed after nine years of paraplegia. And I still miss him so. You know, I think of Harry and I can only smile. He was such fun to be around in high school. He had so much to give the world and he did. I am proud to have known him. I do regret that I did not get to know you and both of your children. My heart goes out to you. May God bless you."

"HI Lois, I am the mother of Rima Baltutis, PCV. She told me about her visit w/Jordan to see you & Harry in June. I cried for your loss. I am sorry that Harry died. I visited Rima in Benin, 2 months after Kate's death. I saw the memorial of flowers & photos of Kate that were displayed in the Cotonou PC building. I am a teacher also, so I was happy to hear that Harry was also & changed the lives of hundreds of special needs children & their families for a better life. He gave life. Rima said you were very kind & loving may God Bless you for your strength, courage and love always. You changed the lives of future PCV's. Thank you, You are always welcome in my home in Chicago. Love, Arie Marguerite"

"I will not say goodbye, but only thank you for blessing me with your love. From my earliest memories, I always knew you were there for me. You picked me up when I fell down, you cheered me when my heart was broken, you guided me and believed that I could do anything. You gave me advise even when I didn't want to hear it. For much of my life, I was at times angered and insulted when you tried to tell me what to do. Only in your last years did I finally understand your tenacity. It was simply the way that you loved...there was no in between...your love compelled you to watch over the person that you loved in every way imaginable. I can not fathom how I will fill the void that your passing has left in my life. Others supported me at different times in my life, but you were the only one there through each of my sixty years. Rest in peace, sweet Harry, my brother, my mentor, my friend, till that day beyond the sunset, when I'll be with you once again."
