"I am the daugher of Priscilla Richards, Hubert and Elda's youngest daugher. We were sorry to hear of Gurnie's passing, but praise God, we all have a better place on the other side and many loved ones to be reunited with. Mothers health is not good, so she could not come to the funeral home, althought she would have liked to see everyone. You are in our thoughts and prayers."

"Uncle Gurney is the last of my uncles to go on to glory. He is one of the finest men I have ever known. A gentle soul, I never in my life ever heard a cross word from his lips nor did I ever hear him raise his voice. He was a mentor and an unbelievable example to other young men. He was a hero to me. No telling how many lives he impacted in a positive way. He sure had an impact on me. I will miss him, but there is no doubt, he has gone on to glory today. "Absent from the body, but present with the Lord" Amen"
