In loving memory of

PATRICIA N. "PAT" DeSHAMBO
April 11, 1939 - April 21, 2020

Patricia Nancy "Pat" DeShambo, 81, of Gwinn, died peacefully Tuesday evening, April 21, 2020 at U.P. Health System-Marquette following a brief illness.

Pat was born on April 11, 1939 in Escanaba to the late Wallace and Lillian Bruce. She married Richard "Dick" DeShambo on May 6, 1961 at St. Joseph's Church in Northland.

Pat and Richard lived in Arnold where they raised five children and owned and operated a logging business for many years. After the passing of her husband and a few years later, Pat moved to Gwinn to be closer to her family.

Pat was an avid Packer fan. Every Sunday you could find her watching the Green Bay Packers decked out in her Packer apparel in her Packer Room full of Packer memorabilia.

Pat was also known for her passion in landscaping and flowers. No back brace or crutches or knee brace could keep her from planting. If there was soil you can bet she would plant a flower in it. She could plant a flower in a sand desert and it would grow. Heaven is probably making a few changes since Pat's arrival. If there is no NFL ticket, there is sure to be now. If there aren't copious amounts of flowers, you can bet there is now.

And let us not forget about her obsession decorating for Christmas. When Christmas time comes around and we miss you the most, all we'll have to do is look up. She will have the sky illuminated with red, green and gold.

Pat had a deep love for her children and an even deeper love for her grandchildren. She never missed a birthday. Every birthday she would call and sing "Happy Birthday to you." We're gonna miss those phone calls, even if she sang out of tune.

She was a small lady, maybe 5 foot if she stood straight up. But never did we underestimate her. She was diligent! She would move mountains to get where she wanted to go! She was at every grandchild's event. She went where she wanted to go, no matter how bad the weather was or what time of the day it was or the miles it took to get there. You could try to keep Granny home, but if you blinked, she was in the passenger seat.

Pat is survived by her three sons, Scott DeShambo of Gwinn, Michael (Carol) DeShambo of Escanaba and Mark (Michele) DeShambo of Gwinn; two daughters, Michelle DeShambo-Lynch of Cornell and Margie (Mike) D'Angelo of Gwinn; three grandchildren, Amber (Francis) Pleaugh of Gwinn, Bethany (Josh) Babieczko of Gwinn, and Michael D'Angelo of Gwinn; five great grandchildren, Lena Pleaugh, Natalie, Taylor, Peyton, and Joshua, Jr. Babieczko, all of Gwinn; three sisters, Beverly (Ben Finnco) Bruce of Green Bay, Colleen (Steve) Schlumpf of Harvey, and Anita (Tony) Derkos of Escanaba. Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her grandson, Mark DeShambo, Jr. and four brothers, Gerald, Conrad, Dale and Wallace.

Pat's family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Allen Mott officiating.

Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the DeShambo family where memories may shared at canalefuneral.com.
