In loving memory of

Caleb Patrick Prentice
May 28, 1996 - April 4, 2020

With deepest sorrow we announce the untimely passing of our most beloved son, Caleb Patrick
Prentice.
Caleb was born on May 28, 1996 and passed away on April 4, 2020. Caleb was a loving son,
brother, family member and friend. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Debra Prentice, his
brother Harrison Prentice, by his maternal grandfather, by his paternal grandparents and many
aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Those who knew Caleb, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Although only 23,
Caleb affected many people in his lifetime. Caleb was, from the beginning to the end, a very
intelligent and ambitious young man. He loved adventure, nature, a good challenge, floral
shirts, coffee and "scents". From Dirt Bikes, RAGBRAI, Mud Run, Track, Biking, Band, Scouts and
Fishing, to Family, Food, Coffee and Scents. Wherever he went he touched a life, made
someone smile and created a memory. Caleb was always amazed with nature and all the
wonders of its being.
Caleb appreciated the simplest things as they were not so simple to him. He taught us more
about the meaning of life, than we could have ever hoped to teach him. Caleb gave us the
priceless gift of perspective. He challenged us in ways we thought would undo us but instead it
made us better human beings.
For you Son, When I;
When I hear the rustle of the leaves or rain when it hits the trees, it reminds me of thee. When
I smell orange peel, freshly brewed coffee or ocean breeze it reminds me of what used to be.
When I see turquoise, mauve or yellow it reminds me of all the colors of your soul. When I look
at the Sky, the Rocks and Sunflowers it reminds me of all those memories that made us whole.
Caleb will be missed Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, Every day. Always in our hearts, In our
minds, In our souls, You will always be.
A Celebration of Life will be held in May 2021.
Those who choose to give a gift to honor Caleb are asked to make a contribution in his name to
the Caleb Prentice Memorial Fund.

"I met Caleb at Friedrich?s (ca. 2015) when he worked as a barista. I am shocked to have just learned about his death 3.5 years later, and I am terribly sorry to the Prentice family for your profound loss. I hope it?s okay for me to comment here? I lost my dad this year, and I know how much it means to me to hear others? memories of him, so I felt I needed to reach out. I always admired Caleb for his gentle demeanor, sense of humor, and kindness. I will always remember him and be thankful I got to know him. Your family is in my prayers."
