"Gloria and family, So very sorry for your loss. Sending prayers your way during this difficult time. Deb Mueller-Brown"
Conley Duane Metzger was born October 27, 1954, in Algona, Iowa. He was the son of Duane and Viola (Potthoff) Metzger. Conley grew up on a farm near Lone Rock, Iowa and attended Sentral High School.
On April 21, 1979, he was united in marriage to Diane Roth at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa and they had two children, Chrissy and Chad. They lived in Spirit Lake until 1982 when Conley returned back to the family farm to begin farming with his Dad after the passing of his brother, Darwin and his Grandpa Metzger. Conley was an owner operator and trucked for 40+ years. His many likes included: fishing, hunting, and motorcycle riding. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His ability to share his stories, in his unique way, about his travels and experiences was enjoyed by all.
Conley passed away, at home in Lone Rock, on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, surrounded by his family on his terms. He was 65 years young.
Conley is survived by his wife, Diane Metzger of Lone Rock; two children, Chrissy Morrow of Eden Prairie, MN and Chad Metzger of Lone Rock; his sister, Gloria (Dan) O'Leary of Emmetsburg; one aunt, JoAnn Nemitz of Fenton; his cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Darwin Metzger, his maternal and paternal grandparents.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later time.
