In loving memory of

RALPH V. LANE
March 15, 1943 - March 3, 2020

Ralph V. Lane, 76, of Harvey, died Tuesday morning, March 3, 2020 at his home under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

He was born on March 15, 1943 in Munising, a son of the late Bruno and Frances (Sharron) Lane. He attended the Mather High School in Munising and enlisted with the U.S. Army at the age of 17.

Ralph served in the 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky. During his working years, he held various positions including working for the DNR as a surveyor, working in the woods as a logger alongside his brother, Terry, sailed the Great Lakes on the ore boats, and was employed with the Cyr Bottled Gas Company for several years. Ralph spent most of his working years however as a roofer with the Pellow Roofing Company in Marquette, ultimately retiring from Clossner Roofing.

Upon retirement, Ralph made his home in the Deerton area and later moved to Harvey. Known to be quite a character, one minute he could be ornery and the next minute, give you the shirt off of his back. He will be sadly missed by anyone who had the privilege of really knowing him.

He is survived by three brothers, Terry (Judy), Dennis (Cheryl) and David; three sisters, Bonnie (Greg) Rokuski, Sharon Dale and Noreen Longuski; also surviving are many nieces and nephews along with his canine companion, Cubby and special friend, Cathy Woodward.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother-in-law, Donald Dale; a niece, Tammy Jo Curry and nephew, Jeffery Lane.

A memorial service will be held in June at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home with burial to take place in the Deerton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to UPAWS, PO Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855 in Ralphs memory.
