"Dave was a kind soul. He had an innate ability to find and enjoy something in everyone. Dave could take the simplest of events and mold them into a memorable story. I remember once when Dave took Charlie and I into Mr. Lohrs biology class at lunch. Dave took out a garter snake that was kept in the classroom. He then proceeded to put the snake into his mouth. Why? Because he was Dave. Dave opened his mouth to take the snake out, but by that time it had latched onto his tongue. So here was Dave with both hands out in the air, mouth open, and tongue out pulling and the snake was holding on with everything it had. Dave, with a bit of effort, eventually freed his tongue, and with a bloody mouth looked at the two of us with a smile and said, Did you see that? Dave will be missed. "
"Have many great memories of Dave in school. Although havent talked to him in many years, he will be missed by me. Still tell the stories. My love goes out to his family. RIP Dave"
"Rest easy my brother. "
"We are deeply saddened by this news. Actually cannot even get it to register in our brains. Detroit Dave as we called him was a very dear friend. A real friend. He came out to Paradise quite a lot to hang out with us and spend days just kicking back and eating lots of good food. If ever something was going on he always and I mean always called to make sure we were alright and see if we needed anything. His parents are two of the nicest people we have ever meet. And we could never express how much our hearts are hurting for them. Thank the Lord that I ran into Dave at Meijers a week ago and got to talk to him, get a hug from him and as always an I love you guys from him. We will miss him dearly every day. Prayers to Mr and Mrs V. Our prayers are plenty. Barry & Kathy Carter"
"Im sorry to hear of Daves passing. I remember the times when in high school when Dave and I bonded over skateboarding. Those were the good days of freedom and youth. After a few years I moved out of state and lost contact with Dave. He will be missed by many. Too young to go. Rest In Peace my brother. Scott jones."
"I still remember the green dickies pants and circle jerks t-shirt. Dave is a true friend although I hadnt talked to him Im many many years...aside from a Facebook note here and there.. I know I could call upon him if need be. I miss you Dave and will miss you from now on. Love you man. RIP."
"Hey Bob, weve never met. Dave became one of my best friends after he moved UP here around 15 years ago, my camp is across the lake from his parents place. We would play music as often as we could. He recorded some camp sessions a few times, though Ive no idea what happened to them. He mentioned you and the others you mentioned in your post often. He mentioned some great tales of your time together out east. Thats the thing about Dave, always up for whatever. Wed go on all sorts of adventures UP here. He was fearless, adventurous and most importantly, KIND. As I sit at my camp ( right across the lake from his parents place) thinking (foolishly ) hell barge in the door, saying what are we doing tomorrow?! A tough day! God bless! "

Your Friend Forever , Till we meet again Lynn Hall"
"RIP David. Gone too soon. Always and forever a Bulldog '89"
"Myself, Charlie Valentine, Sean Murphy and Dave were best friends through high school and shared many good times together. After we graduated, Charlie and Dave moved to New Jersey and then NYC with me to pursue dreams of music and to carve our own paths in life. We worked together in New Jersey and lived together in Brooklyn and spent many nights plotting crazy ideas, making music, etc. After we all eventually moved back from the east coast, I had my son at a young age, and for different reasons (none because our friendship nor love for each other was gone) we (or at least I) went our separate ways. Dave loved skateboarding, music and was one funny kid!! I always enjoyed our time together and man, we had some wild / good ones! I have seen and spoke with Sean a few times throughout the years but have not heard from or seen Charlie or Dave for 20 plus years. And I feel terrible I never went out of my way to re connect with either of them. I would often think about those guys and hope to hear from them and am guilty myself of not reaching out and trying to find them to catch up. I am terribly saddened to hear of my friend Daves passing and my deepest condolences go out to his family. I still keep in touch with many of my / our other good buds from high school like Danny Patrona, Chris Gould, etc but want to take this (sadly) opportunity to reach out to both Charlie and Murf in hopes we could all get together sometime to celebrate our friend Daves life. They can reach me through my general manager Cory Geirman +1 (615) 500-3725... if anyone knows how to reach them, pls pass that info on. Rest in peace Dave, Only god knows why. Your friend - Bob Ritchie."
