Girard R. Orvis, 57, of Iron River, MI passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming, Michigan.
He was born November 4, 1959 in Milwaukee, a son of the late Roland and Elaine (Manikowski) Orvis. He graduated from Port Washington High in 1978 and was currently working for Aramark in Caspian, Michigan.
Girard had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jill; three sons, Josh, Jake and Joe (Stephanie) Orvis; step-daughter, Molly Sheehan; brothers, Andy (Ann) and Steve (Sue) Orvis; sister, Cindy (Dale) Dhein; brother-in-law, Eric (Sue) Anderson; and mother & father-in-law, Bruce and Patricia Anderson; two grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
In accordance with Girard's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Memorial contributions in Girard's name may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
