Anthony J. Amato, 32, of Gwinn, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at his home.
He was born August 16, 1984 in Manchester, Connecticut. He was raised in Gwinn and attended the Gwinn Schools and NMU.
Anthony had a passion for cooking and worked at Lattitudes and Lagniappe Cajun Creole Eatery. He was most recently employed at Adult Learning Systems. His interests included backpacking, camping, fishing, music and working with various local bands.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Phyllis Amato of Gwinn; daughter, Alessa of Marquette; three uncles; an aunt; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A Celebration of Anthony's Life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Sands Township Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Anthony's family, 140 Taylor Rd., Gwinn, MI 49841.
