LORRAINE 'CANDY' HASE DUER
May 29, 1951 - October 12, 2015

Lorraine H. "Candy" Hase Duer, 64, of Marquette, died Monday, October 12, 2015 at her residence.

Candy was born on May 29, 1951 in Munising to the late Donald and Lorraine (Lukowski) Hase and had been a lifelong area resident. She had attended William G. Mather High School in Munising.

Candy formerly tended bar for many local establishments prior to becoming employed at the former Bunny Bread from 1989- 2009 in various capacities.

Candy was known to be very dedicated and hard working at all of her jobs. She had a passion for cooking and seeking out new recipes. She loved to feed everyone she cared about especially her grandchildren. Candy looked forward to holidays, her favorites being Christmas and especially the Fourth of July, spent with family in Munising.

In her free time, she loved watching the Cooking Channel, collecting angels, tea cups and salt and pepper shakers. She also greatly enjoyed going to camp and even hunting camp.

Candy is survived by three children, Bradley Hase, Christine Ellis and Kelly (Kirk) Lawry, all of Marquette; four cherished grandchildren, Ashley Hase, Dustin Ellis, Dylan Ellis and Korbin Lawry; two great granddaughters; her life partner of 27 years, Blaine Marceau of Marquette; six siblings, Nancy Rzanca, JoJo (Ken) Rzanca and Pauly Hase, all of Munising, Lisa Hase of Limestone, Bill (Mary) Hase of Christmas and Donna Hase of Munising; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her very best friend, Sandy Retaskie of Marquette. Preceding her in death besides her parents was a brother, Donald Hase and a nephew.

A celebration of Candy's life will take place on Sunday, October 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. at American Legion Post, #44, 700 W. Bluff St., Marquette with sharing of memories and song beginning at 2 p.m. Please come with a memory you have to share of Candy.

In keeping with Candy's love of feeding the hungry, her family encourages gifts in lieu of flowers to either the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry, 2119 Presque Isle Ave., Marquette, MI 49855 or to a food pantry of the donor's choice.
