ROSE PATRICK
August 27, 1917 - September 18, 2014

Rose Patrick, 97, of Marquette, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 18, 2014 at Mill Creek Assisted Living, her home for the last 6 years, surrounded by family and under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice.

Born in Detroit in 1917 to Italian immigrants, Costabile & Concetta Pacifico Carpinelli, Rose was one of seven children. After WWII she married her sweetheart, George Patrick, Sr., and they raised their three children in Detroit. Upon retirement, Rose and George moved to Lake Gogebic in the UP for 20 years, then to Marquette, living at Tourville Apartments until moving to Mill Creek in 2008.

During their time in Marquette, Rose and George enjoyed time with family and friends, and donating their time to Peter White Public Library and Bay Cliff Health Camp. Rose lived her Italian heritage. She made perfect homemade ravioli and pies. Rose was a devout Catholic and member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. She was also a lifelong Detroit Tiger fan.

George & Rose's love, care and concern for one another is a lasting legacy to everyone who knew them. Rose will always be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She lived a very good, long life, staying very active participating in games, singing, yoga and crafts.

She is survived by a son, George Jr., daughter, Mary (Jeff) Burtch, both of Marquette, and son, John (Sandy) of Ramsay; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, Sr. in 2012, five brothers and a sister.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the angels of Mill Creek for their loving care of our parents.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the mass in the church. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Rose's family will serve as pallbearers.
