LAWRENCE K. (LARRY) CARMACK
September 6, 1957 - February 26, 2014

Lawrence K. "Larry" Carmack, 56, of Harvey, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at his home.

He was born September 6, 1957, in Pontiac, Michigan, a son of Virgil Lee and Margaret Patricia (Sprietzer) Carmack. He was raised in Detroit and was a 1975 graduate of Holy Redeemer High School and later served in the US Air Force.

Lawrence was employed with the Ford Motor Company for 25 years. He held a black-belt in and taught karate. His other interests included training guard dogs, riding motorcycles, reading, photography, studying history and astronomy.

Lawrence is survived by his mother, Margaret Sprietzer of Gwinn; grandmother, Margaret Sprietzer of Marquette; siblings, Michael Lee Banks of Wauchula, FL and Patricia Lynn (Karl) Malashanko of Gwinn; aunts & uncles, Charlotte (Ronald) Rebitzke of Gwinn, Elsie (William) Maki of Marquette and Lawrence Sprietzer of Goodrich, MI; nieces, Laurie Beth Malashanko of Plymouth and Terilyn (Douglas) Dentino of Canton, MI; many cousins and friends; and beloved dog, Sir Tripps A Lot. He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather, Michael Sprietzer and nephew, Kevin Allen Malashanko.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Allen Mott officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass in the Baraga Room at church. Interment will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery in the spring.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Karl Malashanko, Douglas Dentino, Richard Malashanko, William Maki, Ronald Rebitzke, Michael Banks, and Timothy Keuscher.
