Frances B. Fleischer, 80, of Marquette, passed away Thursday evening, January 10, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital in the comfort of her family.
Mrs. Fleischer was born on December 6, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Helen (Osbourne) Peters. Frances was affectionately known as the bird lady of McMillan Street and was an avid animal lover, but none more than her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Gordon (Kyong-Mo) Mendenhall of Colonial Heights, VA, Barbara (David) Cramer of Bonney Lake, WA and Karen (Stephen) Diedrich of Marquette; nine grandchildren, Charles Mendenhall, Elaine (T.J.) Thompson, Daniel Mendenhall, Lara (Jerrick) Linde, Susan (B.J.) Sprague, Jon (Michelle) Cramer, David (Sharon) Cramer, Nicholas Diedrich, and Adam Diedrich; seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Elijah, Buddy, Kailey, Lillian, Logan, and Benjamin; one brother, Pete (Claudia) Peters of Lewisville, TX; also four nephews and a niece. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, LeRoy Fleischer on October 27, 1996; one sister, Shirley Hagner and a nephew, Harry Hagner, Jr.
Friends may call at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. where a memorial service will take place in the funeral home at 7 p.m. with Deacon Scott Jamieson officiating.
