"Dear Rich, I worked with Judy in Hancock where her favorite patient was someone who had MS, little did she know at the time she was going to have MS. I have tried unsuccessfully to find her for years because I was living in Marquette from 2002 - 2012. It pains my heart to think she was in a nursing home and I could have been visiting her. The last time I saw her you guys were living on Michigan and she gave me a gift for my new born son...that was 1987. Betty Gasperich and I were both trying to find Judy. Then when I went to call Betty to tell her that my google search and finally found Judy (too late)...I also learned that Betty had passed away within days of Judy's death. I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could have been there for Judy when she was in the nursing home. Betty was the head nurse on our unit. Now, I am remembering the gerbels that she loved when you were at the MTU housing. Oh my I am so sad. I hope you get this message and know that some of us in Hancock never forgot her. "Dick, I would have sent a card if I could, but this will do. I know that Judy was ready to leave us for a long time. I rarely saw her but tried to send a note to her here and there. She was a dear friend and an excellent nurse. I let her go gladly because she hadn't really lived in a long time. I will keep you in my prayers. Karen Octaluk"
