Bonnie K. Big Bon Storti, 62, of Gwinn, died early Friday morning, November 11, 2011 at Marquette General Hospital where she was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack.
Bonnie was born on June 24, 1949 in Ishpeming, a daughter of the late Peter and Rose (Armatti) Storti and was a lifelong area resident.
She was the owner of Big Bons Bar in McFarland for 30 years. Over those years Bonnie helped many of her employees grow personally and helped them face lifes future challenges in a positive manner.
She enjoyed road trips all across the U.P., going out for dinner and stopping at local casinos while on the road.
Bonnie was a very likeable person and will be deeply missed by her family and friends especially her beloved son, Bradford Storti who she worked and lived for; four siblings, Nancy Zacher, Michael (Sharon) Storti, Peter (Susan) Storti and James (Nancy) Storti; her nieces and nephews whom they referred to as their beautiful aunt Bonnie, Billy Zacher, Catherine (John) Miller, David (Karen) Zacher, Harry (Louise) Zacher, Deborah (Robert) Knickerbocker, Lisa Storti-Mongiat, Paula (Chad) Sherman, Cheryl (Dan) DeVowe, Laurie (Brian) Louis, Evie Rae (Sean) Wright, and James (Terri) Storti, Jr.; also surviving are numerous great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents was a brother, Ron Storti on September 2, 2011and a nephew, Todd Storti on June 26, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home on Monday at 7 p.m. with Rev. Leon Jarvis officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home in Gwinn.
