Alana E. Westenmeyer, 54, of Gwinn, mi, died Sunday morning, at her home, with her husband by her side and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.
She was born December 18, 1956, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Frederick and Hazel (Stolte) Horstmann. Alana was a 1975 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.
On November 28, 1980 she married Leon Westenmeyer in Beaver Dam. The couple relocated to Gwinn, MI in 1988 following his assignment to KI Sawyer AFB and had resided there since.
Alana's interests included crochet, cross stitch, creating pins for Gwinn ladies and collecting raccoons & key chains.
She is survived by her husband, Leon, of Gwinn, MI; a sister, Frances Yuenger of Beaver Dam; brothers, Donald, of Waupun, WI, Richard and William Horstmann, both of Beaver Dam; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alana was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rodger Horstmann.
There will be no services at this time.
