SHANNON MARIE PIETILA
July 9, 1958 - July 18, 2009

Shannon Marie Pietila, age 51, of 695 E. M-35, Gwinn, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 in Gwinn.

Shannon was born on July 9, 1958 in Eagle River, Wisconsin and was a graduate of Northland Pines High School.

She loved performing volunteer work and spending time with her grandson who was her pride and joy. In her free time, Shannon enjoyed being outdoors, going out to eat with her friends as well as to the casino. She was an active member of the Little Lake American Legion Auxiliary.

Shannon had a heart of gold for helping others who were in need and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her four children, David Bowman of Eagle River, WI, Benjamin Bowman of Cadott, WI, Brittany Pietila of Ishpeming and Shawnna Pietila of Conover, WI; one grandson, Seann Pietila; her mother, Nellie Peters of Eagle River; her former husband, Stan Meni of Gwinn; also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Pietila on December 25, 2006.

A memorial service with inurnment will take place at a later date in Eagle River, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Shannon's family.
