Frances Rose Hughes, 73, of 661 E. M-35, Gwinn, died Wednesday morning, January 7, 2009 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming.
Mrs. Hughes was born on December 20, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked for approximately 40 years as a knitter with the Everett Knitting Company in Milwaukee.
After the death of her husband, Roderick Hughes, Frances moved to the Gwinn area in 2007 to be closer to her grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Patrick Hughes of Milwaukee, WI, Mark Hughes of Gwinn, Scott (Gina) Hughes of Milwaukee, WI and Catherine Snow of Gwinn; also 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roderick J. Hughes and several siblings.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Milwaukee.
