Kenneth Edward Jolin, 75, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at his home near Napavine, Washington.
He was born on June 24, 1933 in Marquette to the late Charles and Rosella (Nebel) Jolin where he also attended school. Following his graduation from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for three years including Korea where he earned four Bronze Stars.
In 1958 he moved to Washington and was employed in fire service for Boeing before taking employment at SeaTac Airport where he advanced to the rank of Lieutenant before retiring in 1987. Kenneth then took a position with the Department of Energy in New Orleans, Louisiana for seven plus years before retiring as Fire Marshall in 1994.
In 1975 he married Deanna Ivey in Auburn, Washington. Together they settled in Lewis County in 1996 to retire. Kenneth was a member of the Good Sam Camping Club, Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centralia.
He enjoyed camping, golf, fishing and bowling. Ken will be remembered as a soft spoken, loving person who was very inventive and artistic.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna D. Jolin at home near Winlock, WA; sons, Keith Jolin and Stuart Jolin, both of Wauconda, WA, Kenneth Andrews of Rogue River, OR and Danny Andrews of Gig Harbor, WA; brothers, Lowell and Charles Jolin, both of Marquette; sister, Carol Kunick, also of Marquette; grandchildren, Tracy, Quentin, Rebecca, Jared, Danielle, Phillip, Patrick, Felicia, Aaron, Elizabeth and James; also 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Andrews in 1980 and a daughter, Penny Maloney in 2005.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24th at 4 p.m. in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home with the Rev. Msgr. Jed Patrick officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
