In loving memory of

DOLORES G. MATTSON
December 16, 1919 - July 14, 2008

Dolores G. Mattson, 88, of 201 North Pine Street, Gwinn, MI passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of July 14, 2008 while in the loving care of her daughters and Lake Superior Hospice.

Dolores was born December 16, 1919 in Joliet, IL; the daughter of the late Fredrick and Anna (Bowers) Gabriel. A High School graduate, she worked at Western Electric in Chicago where she met her future husband. On November 30, 1940, she married Dewey Mattson and in 1942 made Gwinn her home.

An active member of the Gwinn United Methodist Church, Dolores sang in the choir, was a member of the United Methodist Women, Martha Stewart Circle and served as the Historian for many years. She also enjoyed the Merry Mixers, times spent out with "the girls" on Friday nights and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

Dolores is survived by her two loving daughters, Diane Jennings of New Carlisle, OH and Darcia Mattson of Gwinn who was her faithful caregiver; loving grandson Marcus Jennings of New Carlisle; and her many many dear friends.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey in 1981; two grandsons, Christian and Jonathon Jennings and son-in-law, Ronald Jennings in June 2008.

A memorial service conducted by Pastor Geri Hamlen will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Gwinn United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Final place of rest will be at the Gwinn Cemetery.

I have many fond memories of singing in the choir with her and also our mothers being involved with the Martha Stewart Circle, etc. I loved her laugh and can hear it now! Sorry about your loss.
