"Ashley, I wanted to let you know how much it saddened me to learn about Peter's death. I am so glad I had a chance to talk with him before you went to Michigan. He was such a fine young man, always polite and so easy to get along with. I am so sorry that he didn't get a chance to live a long and happy life. I am glad that he got another chance to be with his father and the family fun place in Michigan. If I can be of any help, please call me at home, 433-1877 or at the office, 690-8995. Sincerely, Janice Spangler Mobile County Health Dept."

"I was Peter's 7th & 8th grade science teacher at Bayside Academy. Students and faculty alike enjoyed being around him because of his happy nature. He had a smile for everyone. I can still see him on the soccer field playing defense. In addition to having good sportsmanship, he had such a strong leg for sending the ball flying up the field. I am praying that you feel God's loving comfort in your loss."

Bayless & Lynn Biles wrote on Apr 6, 2009:

"Sally & Wayne, You have been in our hearts these last few months especially. I know Peter is free from pain now and for that we must be grateful. I read a quote that hangs in our bedroom that was Klinner's Sr. year quotes. The last one said "Fly high proud bird, you're free at last." We are leaving to go out of town today, Thurs. so will not be at the Memorial Service, but you and your family will be with us in our thoughts and prayers. WE love you! Lynn & Bayless"

"To the family of Mr. Reed, I grew up at H.M.C. and still have family who live there year round. I knew Peter Reed from participating in the Childrens Program during the summer months. I have memories of swimming at the mouth of Pine River and sailing on the Hobby Cat with Peter and the guides. Peter was a cool guy and I'm sure that he is in a better place. Kevin Maki"

"Dear Kent and everyone in the Clow family, What a sad coincidence to be writing you. For the last two years I have been the executive director of the Sarcoma Alliance that provides support and information to sarcoma patients, families and caregivers. I dont really need to go into the details of what we do, but want to say how sorry I am to hear the news about your son. I know how difficult sarcomas are to treat and losing a son in any manner is the most heart breaking thing that can happed to a parent. MD Anderson is one of the best places in the country to be diagnosed and treated for sarcoma so you can be sure that he received the best care he possibly could have received. There will be lots of particularly difficult times over the next couple of months, but I know having your friends and family around will be a great help. If you want to give me a call, please call my cell phone. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
