"So sorry to hear about Aunt Margie - my sympathies to the whole family. I will always remember how she brought us Specker kids a box of cookies and popcorn balls for Christmas every year. Those cookies are still an important part of every family Christmas and they're always referred to as "Aunt Margie Cookies" -- it's even written that way on the recipe card."

Tracy & Donny Kroken wrote on Apr 6, 2009:

"So sorry to hear about Mrs B. Living in your family home, I think of your Mom & Dad every day. I kept little pieces of them in my house that brings back memories of them. I just wrote to my family telling them I hope now that Mr & Mrs B are together I hope they are walking hand in hand around the lake. Something I never got to see them do. I know it was something Mr B did every day & enjoyed it. Than I read about it in her column. I know how much Mrs liked rumage sales, we had that in common. We were out of town when Mr B passed away. I have to work on Saturday. I hope you know my thoughts will be with you all. Take care Tracy & Don Kroken."

"Margie was my Great Aunt & she was GREAT! I can remember going to her & Great Uncle Bill's house on Genesee Street, from a very early age. Margie always had something sweet to eat & always greeted her guests in her kitchen. She made awesome sugar cookies & great chocolate chip bars. Many memories of growing up include my Great Aunt Margie. Love, Matt"

Sally (Specker) Barker wrote on Apr 6, 2009:

"Aunt Margie was the June Cleaver of aunts. Her cookies are not only a Specker family affair but my friends here in Dallas even ask me to make those "Aunt Margie cookies." :o) They've gone to Dallas Cowboy games, Graduations, Easter parties and more. I will continue to think of her each and every time I make them, even though they just don't quite taste as good as hers did."

Joyce and Gil Canale wrote on Apr 6, 2009:

"To Jeanette, Jan and Families, When I was very young I always knew we were related, but never knew exactly how. It is easy to see when we know my mother, Mary, and your mother, Mabel, were first cousins. I have always felt a familial closeness to all especially when my mother went to Eastwood and I saw Marjorie there. I visited with her a number of times and even once after my mother passed away. I did not know she moved to Norlite which is much closer than Eastwood. My sympathy to your family and may she rest in peace. Joyce and Gil Canale"

Donald Bruner wrote on Apr 6, 2009:

"(I am writing again if my first message did not go through). I am sorry to hear of the passing of Margie. I first met Margie when Bill was working part-time at Freds Rubber stamp shop. In later years, I often walked with Bill & sometimes Melissa around the lower harbor or the ice arena. My deepest symphonies. Peace, Don Bruner"
