Richard E. Grant, 89, died Sunday morning, September 16, 2001 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.
Mr. Grant was born on November 16, 1911 at Decatur, Michigan. He was a World War II Army-Air Corp veteran and was very proud of his military service, which included action in Italy and North Africa.
On April 29, 1946, he married the former Gwen Williams and she preceded him in death on November 9, 1999.
Richard worked for many years with the Berkley Public School System retiring as a custodian. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a great outdoorsman. He was a member of Greenfield Presbyterian Church in Berkley.
Survivors include two children, Michael (Chris) Grant of Indian River, MI and Barbara (Sean) Fosmire of Marquette; also two granddaughters, Sara and Laura Fosmire.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Park Cemetery with the Rev. Charles L. Tooman officiating. There will be no visitation.
