Ann Cecelia Silveri, 90, of 1913 N. Westwood Ave., Santa Ana, California, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital in Santa Ana.
Mrs. Silveri was born July 14, 1910 in Marquette to the late Joseph and Concetta (DePietro) Markantony. She was raised in Marquette and worked for awhile at the former Piqua plant before taking employment in Detroit where she met and married Frank P. Silveri.
Frank operated a tile business in Detroit. In the mid 1940s, Ann and Frank moved to California where he continued in the tile business. Ann worked as his bookkeeper and partner and they have lived in that area ever since.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Frank P. Silveri; one brother, Anthony (Beulah) Markantony of Marquette; two sisters, Elizabeth Markantony of Ferndale, MI and Mary Charbonneau-Wade of Garden Grove, CA; also surviving are many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents were two sisters, Della Davis and Verna Bur; also three brothers, Mark, Victor and Joseph Markantony.
Visitation will be in the Bishops Room of St. Peter Cathedral on Thursday, May 3, 2001 from 10 to 11 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday with the Rev. Msgr. Louis C. Cappo officiating. Entombment will take place in Northland Chapel Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be John Major, J.D. Major, Michael Bur, Joseph Peruski, Robert Anderson and Derek Anderson.
