Evelyn Genevieve (Laugen) Sholes, 90, of Winona, died Sunday, March 22, 2020 at her home. Evelyn was born November 9, 1929 to Peter and Jessie Laugen in Fergus Falls, MN. She grew up in Fergus Falls and met Glenn Sholes through her brother in the Navy. Evelyn and Glenn began dating and united in marriage on January 25, 1950.
Evelyn stayed at home to take care of her loving family. She loved to bake treats for them. Birthday cakes were a staple in the Sholes household; always baked with love. Evelyn and her girls made frequent shopping trips and loved every minute together. Bird watching and garage sales were favorite activities for Evelyn and Glenn to do together.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Priscilla (Wayne Warnke) Colby, Gloria (Donald) Moger, Sharon (Dave Dennis) Whetstone, Wendy (James) Ashelin, Adrian (Laurie) Sholes, Michael Sholes; grandchildren, Heidi, Jacob, Tammy, Kelly, Amy, Melissa, Jason, Mara, Jordan; great-grandchilren, Samantha, Gracie, Elliott, Shayna; great-great grandchildren, Jayvion, Romin.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; grandson, Mitchel; great-grandson, Kolton; parents and one brother.
