"Carl made such an impression on me from the first time I met him. A remarkably good-natured, warmhearted, and gracious person, Carl was extraordinary in a million wonderful ways, and, as kind, warm, and unassuming as he was with friends and acquaintances, it was always apparent what a loving and amazing husband and father he must have been. Carl left an indelible impression on everyone around him; he made a world of difference in this world, and my heart aches for his family. Please accept my deepest sympathies, Laurie"
