In loving memory of

Joel Tallman

Martin "Marty" Joel Tallman was born October 18, 1963 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Erle and Ruth Tallman and passed away June 23, 2018. Marty was the oldest of four siblings. Marty's inspiration and commitment to athletics, academics and his family were profound. Marty graduated from Puyallup High School in Washington State and the University of San Diego. He played basketball at the highest levels in the state of Washington, traveled on his basketball team through Australia and played tennis for good measure. Marty found peace in life, friendships, and family.

Marty was predeceased by his father Erle Tallman and step-daughter Amanda Hope. His wife Lorraine was a guiding light in his life and his strength. Marty thrived on family and children always taking the time to show them how much he cared. Marty is survived by his wife Lorraine Tallman; mother Ruth Tallman; step-children Leah and Rachael Gavin; sister Miranda (Randi) Jones; and brothers Scott and Ty Tallman.
Thank you, Marty, for being such a great person and our friend. We love you and know you are with God in Heaven.

Marty, my partner in life and the man I always dreamt about. To be married to a man that inspires you to dream big, holds you when the world hurts you, picks you up when you fall and tells you that you're the best wife ever, coach to all the girls teams "Go Rams!" and the still small voice who says, "It will be alright, I will never leave you, we can do this". Legacy Builder "Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels"- Encourager- Friend to all- Faithful to the ones he loved. Amazing Father to Leah, Rachael and our sweet Angel Amanda. My heart will forever have a hole in it until we meet again. Hold tight to our sweet Amanda until we all are together again. Big Hugs!

A Celebration of Life for Marty Tallman will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Church for the Nations, 6225 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you offer memorial contributions to the Tallman family during this difficult time. Please visit Marty's GoFundMe page to offer your support in his honor.

"The Tallman Family were our friends for all the years the children were growing and involved in the various sports; Erle was our accountant and he and Ruth spent many wonderful experiences with Chet and me. Marty played on the basketball team with our son Chet, and Randi was on the softball team with our daughter Terri. We all enjoyed watching their various games and Ty's games as the youngest one too. Sadly we had lost touch with Erle and Ruth over the years and I was not aware of Erle's passing; and you may not be aware that I lost Chet on July 4, 2016. I am glad our mutual friend Shelli Hudlicky thought to pass along the news of Marty's passing. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL OF YOU. GOD WILL KEEP MARTY IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND IN HEAVEN!!!!"
