Captain David Barter

Captain David "Wade" Barter, 42, of El Mirage died Thursday, November 16th in Colorado of a tragic hunting accident.

Wade is survived by his wife Carrie, 5 sons- Tanner, Ryan, Adam, Callen and Kian, his mother and father, Judy and Lynn Barter, grandmother Mignon Barter of Oklahoma, sister-Lyndy Barter, brother-Kaleb Barter, niece-Danielle Barter-Amezquita, her husband Marco, their two sons, Jaxson and Anthony, all of Arizona. Mothers in-law and fathers-in-law Ben and Kathy Allen of Oregon and Jeri and Ron Pitts of Arizona as well as uncles, aunts, sisters and brothers in law, cousins, the brothers of The Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical District and many friends world-wide.

Captain Barter was a 17-year Veteran of Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical. Throughout his career he held the title of Firefighter, Engineer, Paramedic, Captain, Hazardous Material Technician, Terrorist Liaison Officer(TLO) and Special Operations Coordinator. Captain Wade Barter was also a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Bellawood.

Wade has earned his BS Degree, Masters Degree, and would have completed his PhD in the Spring of 2018. He had attended the University of Phoenix and Grand Canyon University. Wade loved life and loved serving. He was loved and counted as a dear friend by many. He will be sorely missed. Of all of Wade Barter's titles in life that he held most dear to his heart, and the joy of his life was to be surrounded by family and friends. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Wade and will miss him more than words can express. We ask that you keep his family, his family at Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical in your thoughts and prayers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Christ Church of the Valley in Peoria, AZ. Burial will follow the service at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
