Joyce passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the age of 62 in Phoenix, Arizona. Joyce is preceded in death by her father, John "Jack" Kossick and her mother, Kathryn Kossick. She is survived by her two children, Gear (Chelsey) Misner and Zeke (fiance Cori) Misner; her granddaughter, Reagan Misner; her significant other, Art Shedlock; her three sisters, Joann (Fred) Wille, MaryAnn (Sam) Foco, and Jeanette (Ed) Burbank; and her two brothers, Don (Karen) Kossick and Jim (Marge) Kossick; as well as her many nieces and nephews. Joyce grew up in a loving family in the small town of Pinconning, Michigan. She was the youngest of six children. Joyce graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Pharmacy and built an unprecedented career in Phoenix, AZ. Her career included working at the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy, the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners, and Maricopa Integrated Health Systems where she finished her career as the Director of Pharmacy. Her biggest accomplishments did not come from behind a desk, but as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the most caring, helpful, and motivating individual there was. Joyce loved spending time with her boys and watching them grow into men, cheering for University of Michigan football, eating Pinconning cheese and pickled bologna, lending an ear to those that needed to talk, reminiscing about her amazing childhood, golfing with her friends, and babysitting her granddaughter. A Memorial service for Joyce will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix 85020. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association at http://www.heart.org. Visit https://hansenmortuary.wpengine.com for condolences.

"Kossicks...... That name rings a wonderful BELL in our ears! The Rivards and the Kossicks were neighbors for so many years!
We never knew Joyce because she was the baby of the family, but Willie, Sharon and Jim were of the same age and still share a great friendship. We share the loss of this beautiful young woman, what an impact she made on the world......You all should be so proud!!!!!

"JOYCEE', JOYCEE',JOYCEE' where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday I was teasing you at Ferris about fretting over a big test and you would say "You Son of a "B" Schultz you're so cocky"! then you'd break into that big "Chipmunk Grin" and unique laugh. We would hug and I'd say don't worry we'll make it. And you Did! And You Did, and You Did time after time. You Did Good, More than Good in Life! I'm only sorry I didn't get to see you one more time in person so you could swear at me one more time..
Although there was a great distance between us in where we ended up You were still very near and dear in my heart. Memories of you will always be there. Forget RIP it's not in your program. The night you passed it was thundering here in Michigan in "FERBUARY?" I figured You, Roger, and Tuti had met up. Loved You JOYCEE!"

"Our sincere condolences to the Misner and Kossick families. Joyce was a close friend through grade school and high school. Growing up, she and I spent so many fun times together. Spending time between our Pinconning homes, on the cheerleading squads at both schools, and numerous extra curricular activities, I will always treasure those memories. Never a dull moment with that funny , joking lady! Joyce truly loved life--- succeeding in her pharmaceutical career and raising two young men and a granddaughter.
Thoughts and prayers to you Gear, Zeke, Reagan, and to Joyce's brothers and sisters. Heaven has gained another special angel to join her Mom & Dad.
Ron & Cheryl (LaBean) Offenbecker."
