Carl Leslie Hawkins

Carl Leslie Hawkins, Jr., passed away on February 15, 2020. Carl was born on May 27, 1935 in Hagerman, NM, to Carl Leslie Hawkins and Grace Bailey Hawkins.

He joined the Navy in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1958.  He met his beautiful wife, Leonora, in California in 1965 and they were married July 23, 1967.

Carl worked for Central Freight in Amarillo, TX, for 33 years where he raised his family and retired.  He moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 2001 where he and the love of his life, Lee, lived a very full and happy life traveling, playing bingo, singing karaoke, and making a lifetime of friends and memories.  He also loved praising the Lord with his amazing church family at North Bible Church.  He had the biggest heart and a true love for the Lord.

He's preceded in death by his parents Carl and Grace Hawkins, his brother Bill Hawkins, sisters June Meyers and Georgie Hawkins, his daughter Tammy Pike, and sons Tim Hawkins, Glenn Juliano, and Richard Juliano, Jr.

Carl is survived by his wife Leonora, his children John Juliano, Joe Juliano, Johnny Hawkins, Kimberly Bennett and husband David, Carl Hawkins, III, and his wife Connie.  He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will take place  from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00am on Friday, February 21, 2020 at North Bible Church, 15678 N Greenway Hayden Loop, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

"So sorry WASN'T able to make service. Wouldn't have been much company.. But can morn alone. He knows I loved him. And i know he loved me. Wish we could have had as many years together as you all did. He was a perfect DAD for you all. So sure relationship was totally different than ours. So sorry we lost our DAD. But looking down on us now. Definitely sending much LOVE. And definitely tell your mom I'm so sorry for her loss. They were definitely soulmates. And give her a great big hug and kiss. Much love to you all. Again so sorry. Be strong y'all."
