"Dear Sherry, I?m so very sorry to hear. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know there are no words. I wish all of you love, hugs, peace, and strength during this sad time. Love Beverlee"
Don Antol, age 54, of Scottsdale, Arizona lived a life full of love, family, friends, and sports...especially his favorite Chicago teams! On June 6, 2018, he passed away after a valiant battle with leukemia. Don was married to his best friend, Sherry, for over 30 years. His greatest accomplishments are his three adoring children, Kevin, Rachel, and Nicole. Throughout his life and through his careers at Roadway Express and as an RN in hospitals in Indiana and Arizona, Don cultivated many friendships that he cherished. He enjoyed hiking mountains, running along the beach, eating a good Chicago pizza, drinking a cold beer (or two...), and spending time with friends, family, and his furry pals, Daisy, Dexter, and Dewey. Don is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his children, Kevin, Rachel, and Nicole; his parents, Dixie and Jerry Antol, and his brother and bone marrow donor, Tom Antol, to whom we owe a great deal of thanks and appreciation for giving us an extra 503 days to love him!
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary at 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to any cancer research organization. Please feel free to wear your favorite team gear---Don would have preferred it that way!
"Dear Sherry, I?m so very sorry to hear. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know there are no words. I wish all of you love, hugs, peace, and strength during this sad time. Love Beverlee"

"I had the honor of working in the Endoscopy Department with Don. He had such great humor, but most of all he was very bright & a well seasoned nurse who could handle emergency experiences. He always spoke with much pride concerning his wife, son & daughters accomplishments. He will be missed. To Fair Winds & Following sea's?"
"Don was an amazing nurse, sports fan, and friend. If shit hit the fan I can always give him a look and he would have my back in an instant. He loved Sherry and the kids with all his heart and loved his trips to San Diego. We spent many hours in the ER and Endoscopy together talking about life, cars, sports, and beer. I loved his laugh and his expression when he knew things were not going well. May Don finally experience piece! He truly fought through all of his medical adversity and I will always admire him for making that choice. When he was sick my favorite line of all time from him was " Kevin all I want is to be able to pick my freaking weeds" Don you will be truly missed!"

"Don welcomed me to AZ, when I began working with him in the Shea ED. I loved his humor. I never heard him say a cross word about his life outside of work. When he invited me to card playing with a few coworkers, I enjoyed the time we spent. He was a fabulous nurse, with amazing skills. I also enjoyed the times we met to look at classic cars on Indian Bend Rd. He is one of the people I missed most when I returned to MI.
