Mary Ann Lorraine
Mary Ann Lorraine Arner, 94, of St. Cloud, died at 6:15 am, Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born May 10, 1923 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Paul and Monica Sakry. She married Aubrey Arner on September 9, 1943 and he survives.
Also surviving are her three children, Ronald Arner, Linda McNulty, and Kenneth Arner; six grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann's father Paul Sakry and mother Monica Sakry, and her four siblings preceded her in death.
Mary Ann was a long-time resident of Phoenix, where she lived since 1947 with her beloved husband. Aubrey was the apple of her eye and she loved no one more than him. The timeless couple lived a happy and faithful marriage that filled family and friends with great joy. Mary Ann and Aubrey loved each other more than anyone else and their affection towards one another was truly beautiful.
During her almost 95 years on earth, Mary Ann was best known for her love of God and family. Mary Ann's faith shone as a beacon of God's hope and love to all she encountered. She also enjoyed giving and receiving communion, and she always prayed for her loved ones day in and day out. Mary Ann's love and devotion to family was evident once you got a few sentences out of her, which was not a difficult task whatsoever. She cherished every family member of hers and she enjoyed nothing more than simply being around her family - her pride and joy.
Mary Ann also had a deep passion for the arts; cinema, music and pictures/photography. Mary Ann made her acting debut in three full-length films and met one of her favorite actors, Clint Eastwood. She was an outgoing and fun-loving woman whose dream was to one day become a movie star. Mary Ann was adept at playing the piano and always enjoyed "playing for the old people" at the old folk's home, though she would never consider herself "old" - not even at the youthful age of 87. Up until the week before her death, Mary Ann played some of the old piano tunes she enjoyed. Mary Ann always loved taking photos, especially of herself, and then later reminiscing on those fun times. There was never a time when she did not have a photo album out and about for everyone to see.
Mary Ann was a great woman who leaves a lasting legacy of joy, thankfulness, and love. Her time here on earth was lovely, wonderful, and long, but everyone would say it was too soon for her to be called home. She is no longer a resident of Phoenix, but now a resident of Heaven, where she enjoys perfect unity and eternity with her Savior and King, Jesus.
The visitation is from 5:00-7:00 PM, Rosary 6:00 PM, on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Hansen Mortuary, 8317 N. 7th Street. Funeral service will follow the next day at 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church 8620 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Father Dale Craig will be officiating. Burial will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
