Nancy Louise Timmons


Nancy Louise Timmons, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the age of 75.

Nancy was born in La Belle, MO, on May 27, 1942, to Clayton Neil Myers and Gracie Letha Hayes. She graduated from La Belle High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Education at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. She later returned to school and earned a Master's degree in Education Administration through the University of Phoenix.

Nancy began her teaching career at Meadville High School, in Meadville, MO. Shortly thereafter, the local pastor introduced her to her future husband, Jesse Arnold Timmons. They were married on June 12, 1965, in Meadville. They relocated to Arizona in 1984, and moved to Scottsdale in 1989.

Nancy took some time away from teaching to stay at home and raise her children, later resuming her teaching career at Toltec Elementary School and at Hearn Academy (Phoenix). She taught English, history and drama, eventually retiring in 2007. She enjoyed cross-stitch, crochet and reading. She also had a particular fondness for classic Western movies and collecting owl figurines and memorabilia.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Arnold, her children, Matthew (Christie) of Canal Fulton, OH, Daniel (Brooklyn) of Flagstaff, and Susan (Scott) Cain of Phoenix, and eight grandchildren: Elijah, Jovie, Benjamin, Gracie, Olive, Adeline, William and Kathryn. She is also survived by her brother, Ron Myers of Louisiana, MO, and sister, Linda Tucker of Edwardsville, IL.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and her children, Melissa Elaine and Jesse Robert.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2018, at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel and Memorial Park (6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85254). Public visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Services will begin at 1:00 PM, with burial to follow.​
