Nancy C. Baumgartner

Nancy Caroline (Knobloch) Baumgartner was born to Walter and Iola Knobloch on September 10, 1949 in Rock Rapids, Iowa and passed away at the Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, Arizona on October 9, 2017 at the age of 68.

Nancy grew up and attended school in Hills, Minnesota. After high school, Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses in Sioux Falls, SD until 1979 when she relocated to Phoenix, AZ due to health issues. Nancy married Leon Baumgartner on December 2, 1984 and she helped Leon in his Try Me Bicycle business up until the time of her death.

Nancy gave her heart to the Lord at age 13. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and was a faithful servant of the Lord in the church and to many, many individuals. Although she had none of her own, Nancy had so much love for children and served as a "nanny" , "aunt", or "grandma" to so many over the years.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Leon Baumgartner, 3 brothers; Larry of Hills, MN, Delbert (June) of Rock Valley, IA, and Dan (ReJean) of Rock Rapids, IA, 2 sisters; Jean (Gary) Heyer of Larchwood, IA and Marvella (Scott) Steffen of Morton, IL, sister-in-law Judy Clayborn of East Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by many cherished nephews and nieces.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, nephews Jeremy Heyer and Jeff Knobloch, sister-in-law Sherryl Knobloch, and Leon's parents, Glen and Alice Baumgartner. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, 10:00 am at the Apostolic Christian Church 9230 N 26th St Phoenix, AZ. Interment will follow at East Resthaven Park Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.

"Leon, thinking of you in the loss of your dear wife and also to Nancy's siblings. It was 5 or 6 years ago, when Caroline Banwart and I were at hour home for dinner (it was in March). After dinner we played dominoes and Nancy won every game. Now she has won the battle of life and her body is healed and she is with the Lord, for whom she served many years. May our Heavenly wrap you and her siblings in His comforting arms and give you peace."
